The important part about FIRS is that it has a lot of things that act like the Factory in the standard game, by that I mean you deliver one thing to get the output, you deliver 2 or 3 to increase or vastly increase the output. Have a look at this cargo chart so you have an idea of which cargo is delivered to different industries. The complete set of industries can be overwhelming, or at least it is for me (31 cargos, 52 industries), so you can choose playing with the Temperate Basic Economy only, for example (18 cargos, 17 industries). And then you will notice the Port needs other cargo to produce engineering supplies, thus closing the "circle" of supplies/cargo delivering. They are not required but at some point during the game you will most likely need it, so you need to find an industry that produces them, like the Port. If you click on any primary industry you will see, for example, some need a certain amount of engineering supplies delivered to them every certain period of time in order to boost production. Now, you can boost production of primary industries. However, the Stell Mill will not produce any cargo until it gets iron ore and other raw materials. The iron ore cargo will never end, so you can have trains delivering it all the time.

For example, the Iron Ore Mine produces iron ore for the Iron Works and the Steel Mill. Those produce infinite raw materials that can be delivered to other industries that need them.

OPENTTD FIRS MOD
Thanks, this looks like a great mod and it really spices up the game. And I don't know what mine/plant to start at. I just have no idea what mine/plant to start at because it seems they all need to be supplied from somewhere else first. I don't want people saying "go play the vanilla game of you don't understand it" Except I do understand it. So I need some help figuring out where to start here. Look at the bauxite mine, says it needs things from this other place. Look at the aluminum plant, says it needs things from the bauxite mine. It said they needed things from an aluminum plant.

So I spent about 10 minutes looking at all the new industries trying to see where I could start. I got all the necessary add-ons and jumped in.Īnd holy crap, this game went from 0 to 100 real dang fast. And ive heard praise about this FIRS mod.
OPENTTD FIRS HOW TO
Yesterday I spent a few hours learning about how to build multiple track systems and other things.
